竹を曲げ組み合わせて芯にし、表面に布をかぶせて金属や種子のビーズ、ボタンなどを縫いつけます。更に毛糸の房やモール、種子ビーズを連ねた物をなどで飾っています。

The elaborate headdresses of Akha women vary in details of design and shape, reflecting their status and taste. This colorful example is made of bamboo strips, metallic beads, seeds, and ribbons. They constantly wear these headdresses even during farm work.
